This notice explains what personal data I collect through this website, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts.

Who I am

Tideline Web Design is run by Tomasz Zajas, a sole trader based in Rhebogue, Limerick, Ireland. I am the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact me about privacy at tomek.zajas03@gmail.com.

What I collect

  • Contact form and email. Your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell me, such as your phone number, business name, current website and message.
  • Server logs. My hosting provider records technical data such as IP addresses and browser type to keep the site secure and working. I don't use this to identify you.

I don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on this website.

Why I use it, and the legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote, because you asked me to: taking steps before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To answer general questions and keep a record of our correspondence: my legitimate interest in running my business (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • If you become a client, to deliver the work and keep accounts: performing our contract and meeting legal obligations such as tax records (Article 6(1)(b) and (c)).

Who else handles it

I use a small number of service providers who process data on my behalf:

  • Netlify, Inc. (Netlify Forms), which receives contact form submissions.
  • My website host, which serves this site and keeps server logs.
  • Google (Gmail), my email provider, which stores our correspondence.

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. I never sell your data or share it for marketing.

The PageSpeed test on the home page sends the address you type directly to Google. Nothing is sent to me.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: deleted within 12 months.
  • Client records and invoices: six years, as Irish tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or move it to someone else. Email me and I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes

If I change how I use personal data, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
